Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders center back Chad Marshall and midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro to the Week 34 Team of the Week for their standout performances in a pair of victories last week that saw the Sounders grab six road points and secure a postseason berth.
On Wednesday, Marshall played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win at Orlando City SC, then once again played the full minutes in a 3-2 victory at the Houston Dynamo on Sunday. In Houston, Marshall opened the scoring with a header for his fourth goal of the season, while also becoming the second field player in MLS history to reach 400 career league appearances.
Lodeiro was stellar against the Dynamo recording three assists tying the Sounders' single-game record and setting new single-season and career assist marks for the club.
Marshall, Lodeiro and the Sounders return to MLS action this Sunday, October 28 against the San Jose Earthquakes (1:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS) as they look to secure a top three seed in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs with a win.
