UNBEATEN JULY: The Sounders went undefeated in July, finishing a busy month 4-0-2 and getting themselves back into playoff contention.
GOOSE ON THE LOOSE: Svensson scored his first goal of the season against Minnesota on a long-range blast a few months ago and is coming off a similar deep strike against New York City FC last weekend.
DEFENSIVE ANCHORS: Led by a rotation of center backs Chad Marshall, Kim Kee-hee and Román Torres, the Sounders have allowed just two goals in their last five matches.

DARWIN’S THEORY: Minnesota is spearheaded by one-man wrecking ball Darwin Quintero, who leads the Loons in goals (9) and assists (8). He has six goals in as many matches, including a hat trick on July 4. He was just called into the MLS All-Star Game in Atlanta on Wednesday, though, which is beneficial for Seattle.
EXPOSED DEFENSE: The Loons have allowed 44 goals this season, tied for worst in the Western Conference and third in MLS.
HOME SWEET HOME: Minnesota has just one win on the road this year, but it boasts a formidable 8-3-1 record at TCF Bank Stadium. The Loons have only lost once at home since May 12.
