TACOMA, WASH. – Tacoma Defiance (2-11-4, 10 points) on Saturday earned a point on the road with a 1-1 draw at Austin Bold FC (5-5-5, 20 ponts). Justin Dhillon scored for the sixth time in his last seven games for the lone tally for Tacoma. Defiance snapped a two-game losing skid with the result and registered its second road point of the season. The club now has a two-week break before returning to the road for its next two matches.
Dhillon continued his strong stretch with a goal in the 37th minute to give Tacoma a 1-0 lead. He headed home a corner kick from Joel Rydstrand for his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Last week at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, Dhillon had his five-game scoring streak snapped that dated back to May 12.
Bold FC found an equalizer in the 61st minute off the foot of Kleber. He collected a loose ball near the top of the area and sent a shot that was deflected past Tacoma goalkeeper Trey Muse to even the match at 1-1. Austin is now unbeaten in its last three contests with the result (1-0-2).
Six players under the age of 20 saw action for Tacoma tonight, including one First Team player in Muse.
