Major League Soccer has nominated Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz for Week 6 Goal of the Week for his golazo against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park on Sunday. Ruidíaz scored two of the team's three goals, and assisted the third, in a 3-0 rout over Portland.
Late in the match, the Peru international capitalized on a defensive miscue by the host Timbers, seizing possession of the ball and chipping the onrushing goalkeeper to seal three points. It was the second goal of the evening for Ruidíaz, who opened the scoring earlier in the second half when his one-touch strike snuck into the top corner. In all, Ruidíaz has seven goals and two assists in six career MLS matches against Portland.
