Major League Soccer on Wednesday announced that Seattle Sounders midfielder Handwalla Bwana has been selected to the 2019 MLS Homegrown Game presented by Energizer.
Bwana and the MLS Homegrowns will take on the U-20 side from Liga MX’s Chivas de Guadalajara on July 30 at 2 p.m. PT at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
Bwana, 22, is in his second professional season with Seattle since signing ahead of the 2018 MLS campaign. The Ballard High School and University of Washington product has three goals and one assist in 22 career MLS matches, including 11 starts.
The Sounders return home on Sunday to take on Atlanta United at CenturyLink Field (12:55 p.m. PT; ESPN, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS).
