ALL-TIME HISTORY: The Sounders are 8-10-10 all-time against the Galaxy, including a 3-6-5 mark on the road.

PREVIOUS MEETING: Fresh off a cathartic win on the road in Portland, which secured the 2019 Cascadia Cup, the Sounders hosted the LA Galaxy at CenturyLink Field in Week 28 of the MLS regular season. With both teams desperate to pick up maximum points to establish some breathing room in the jam-packed Western Conference, the Rave Green emerged victorious with a 4-3 result. Cristian Roldan secured the result a pair of goals, including a late winner, while Jordan Morris bagged one of the best individual goals of the 2019 season.

TRENDING UP: Seattle and LA enter this fixture on the back of marquee victories in their respective rivalries, with the Galaxy topping LAFC 2-0 and the Sounders dismantling the Timbers 3-0.

MISSING STARS: The Galaxy will likely be without the services of star striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, who missed El Trafico with an injury he picked up at the MLS is Back Tournament. Chicharito’s teammate for club and country, Jonathon Dos Santos, did manage to make a 25 minute cameo off the bench.

GOALS ON GOALS ON GOALS: The Sounders have scored 11 goals from their last four regular season matches against the Galaxy, foreshadowing an end-to-end match on Wednesday.

FAMILIAR FOES: Morris and Roldan will be intimately familiar with the Galaxy player who scored the decisive second goal against LAFC, midfielder Sebastian Lletget, as the trio have been mainstays on the United States Men’s National Team.

THE FUTURE IS NOW: Both clubs boast rosters loaded with talented Homegrown players. Sounders winger Shandon Hopeau faced off against Galaxy striker Ethan Zubak in the 2016 USSDA national semifinal. While Josh Atencio and Ethan Dobbelaere bested Julian Aurajo in the 2017-18 academy playoffs en route to winning the national title.
