Following the club's 2-2 draw over the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night, Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday for Matchday 33.
Morris scored both goals for the Seattle side, earning him the TOTM honors.
Down by one, Morris scored the equalizer for the Rave Green in the 21st minute after a deflected ball went in the direction of the Mercer Island native, who half-volleyed the ball past goalkeeper Daniel and into the back of the net.
Morris gave the Sounders the lead in the 39th minute with another aerial shot near the top of the six-yard box off a Paul Rothrock cross from the right flank.
Morris’ two goals of the night puts him at 13 so far in the 2024 regular season.
The Sounders return to action on Sept. 28 as they host Houston Dynamo at Lumen Field (7:30 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV | TICKETS).
