Major League Soccer on Monday named Jordan Morris its Week 11 Player of the Week for his dominant display in Seattle’s 7-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday night. In addition to handing the Rave Green an early lead in the 4th minute, courtesy of a fantastic individual run from midfield, the Homegrown winger dished out three assists, matching a club record for a single-match performance.
Coming off a 2019 campaign in which the Sounders won MLS Cup and Morris was named Comeback Player of the Year, the Mercer Island native has carried his prolific form into 2020. With six goals and five assists from 10 regular season appearances, he is the only player currently in the league’s top five for goals and assists.
Monday’s accolade marks the second time Morris has been named Player of the Week following his match-winning performance against the Chicago Fire in Seattle’s 2020 regular season opener back on March 1.
