MLSSoccer.com has nominated Jordan Morris’ game-winning goal on Saturday versus the Vancouver Whitecaps for Week 28’s AT&T MLS Goal of the Week.
The Seattle Sounders forward scored a diving header off a cross from Nicolas Lodeiro in the 81st minute of Seattle’s 1-0 win against its Cascadia rival. Morris earned the Sounders a crucial three points as they make a push for the final Western Conference postseason spot.
The goal was Morris’ fifth game-winning goal of the year, an MLS record. He also became only the fifth MLS rookie ever to record double-digit goals.
“I told him before the game that he was going to score a goal,” Lodeiro said postgame.
Morris is matched up against the New England Revolution’s Kelyn Rowe, who scored from just outside the 18-yard-box against the Montreal Impact.
