Make it eight games unbeaten for Bruce Arena.
The United States national team coach is 4-0-4 since taking over the reins last November after leading the U.S. to a 2-1 Pre-Gold Cup friendly win over Ghana at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn., on Saturday.
Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris and midfielder Cristian Roldan did not start, but were each available off the bench. Morris entered in the 76th minute for Dom Dwyer to earn his 16th cap. Roldan, who was looking for his first international appearance, did not appear.
The U.S. opened the scoring in the 19th minute as debutant and recent U.S. citizen Dwyer finished a left-footed volley from six yards out. The U.S. doubled their lead in the 52nd minute when Kelyn Acosta’s free kick from just outside the 18-yard-box bent around the wall and past goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
Ghana pulled one back in the 60th minute off an incredible free kick from Asamoah Gyan.
The U.S. will return to their training site in Nashville, Tenn., to prepare for their opening Gold Cup match against Panama on July 8 at Nissan Stadium.
