Jamaica national team calls in Seattle Sounders defender Oniel Fisher for friendly against United States

The Jamaica national team has called in Seattle Sounders defender Oniel Fisher for the Reggae Boyz’s friendly against the United States on Feb. 3 in Chattanooga, Tenn. (4 p.m. PT; FS1, UniMas). He has one cap, which he earned in 2010.

Fisher, 25, will take on his club teammates Jordan Morris, Chad Marshall and Brad Evans. Marshall started and went the full 90 minutes, and Morris entered as a substitute in the 74th minute in the U.S.’ scoreless friendly draw with Serbia in San Diego, Calif., last Sunday.

The Sounders also announced on Tuesday that Fisher has received his U.S. green card, which grants him permanent residence in the United States. He will no longer occupy an international roster spot.

Fisher appeared in nine matches in the regular season and postseason last year, starting twice and recording one assist.
