LA Galaxy defender Jelle Van Damme was undoubtedly the man at the center of the Seattle Sounders' 1-1 draw against the LA Galaxy on Sunday, but should the Belgian big man have even been on the field for the final 10 minutes of the match?
MLSsoccer.com analyst Simon Borg said in the latest installment of the site's popular Instant Replay series that Van Damme should have seen a second yellow card for a late and reckless tackle on Sounders Designated Player Nicolás Lodeiro in the 80th minute. Van Damme was whistled for a foul but was not issued a card, denying the Sounders a potential advantage down the stretch.
