SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC 2 forward Felix Chenkam has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 6 after helping Sounders FC 2 (3-4-0, 9 points) earn a 3-2 road win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday evening. In the 51st minute, Chenkam scored a go-ahead goal with a left-footed strike, then completed the brace three minutes later with a blast from outside the area.
Chenkam, 18, signed with S2 in March after playing for Cameroon’s Rainbow FC last season, where he was teammates with 19-year-old S2 defender Rodrigue Ele. They are both members of Cameroon's U-20 team, and each of them played for Cameroon during the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in February and March. Chenkam currently leads S2 with three goals during the 2017 USL campaign.
On Friday, S2 returns home against Portland Timbers 2 at Starfire Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.
