SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 defender Denso Ulysse today was named to the USL All-League Second Team. He is one of six defenders named to the All-League squads for the 2018 season. The teams were voted on by club management and a league-wide media panel that included representation from every USL market.
Ulysse, 19, led S2 with 28 starts and 2,466 minutes played in 2018, and started every game in which he appeared. The right back led all team defenders and ranked tied for fourth on the club in shots (20), and ranked first among S2 defenders with 20 chances created. Ulysse also led multiple defensive categories for Seattle, including 78 interceptions and 144 duels won, while ranking tied for the club lead with 13 blocked shots. His 78 interceptions were tied for the third-most in the league.
The Gonaives, Haiti native is joined on the Second Team by defenders Ayoze of Indy Eleven and Darnell King from San Antonio FC. The First Team defenders are Paco Craig of Louisville City FC, Joe Greenspan from Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Forrest Lasso of FC Cincinnati.
The honor is the second in less than a month for Ulysse, as he was named to the USL’s 20 Under 20 List in mid-October. He was the highest-ranked defender on the list, and came in seventh overall in the voting.
