Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders defender Kelvin Leerdam to the Week 13 Team of the Week bench for his performance in a 3-2 loss against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.
Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Seattle got on the board in the 63rd minute when Leerdam set up Raúl RuidÃaz with a nifty spin move and cross for the Peruvian striker to finish off and cut the lead before Russell struck for his hat trick just minutes later. Leerdam then headed home a corner kick in the 71st minute to pull the Sounders within 3-2.
The Sounders continue the road swing with a visit to FC Dallas on Saturday (5 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
