Following the team’s 4-0 win versus LA Galaxy on Sunday night at Dignity Health Sports Park, Seattle Sounders forward Danny Musovski and defender Alex Roldan earned MLS Team of the Matchday honors for Matchday 28.
Musovski was named to the TOTM Starting XI, while Roldan was featured on the bench.
Musovski's selection comes after his brace in Sunday's fixture. The forward collected the team's second goal of the night in the 37th minute off the rebound of his first shot attempt that was intitally saved by goalkeeper Novak Mićović. Then in the 54th minute, Musovski found himself in front of goal once again following a save from Mićović where the Henderson, Nevada native executed a close-range finish.
Roldan's goal contribution came in the final moments of the match when he played a beautiful cut-back ball in the 85th minute to Snyder Brunell, who one-timed it from the top of the six to make it 4-0 for the away side. Additonally, the defender made three clearances, four recoveries and two tackles, supporting the Rave Green to a shutout over the Southern California side.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday when they visit Allianz Field to face Minnesota United (5:30 p.m. PT; FS1, FOX Deportes, Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) in St. Paul, Minn.
