Copa America Centenario: Haiti, Peru and Bolivia join Argentina for Seattle matches

Haiti, Peru and Bolivia will join world power Argentina as the four teams who will play their group-stage games at CenturyLink Field in Seattle during this summer’s Copa America Centenario, and there’s a possibility the United States could appear in the Emerald City in the tournament’s quarterfinals.

The field was set Sunday night at the Copa America Centenario draw in New York City, where all 16 teams learned their fate for the historic 100th anniversary of one of the world’s most celebrated soccer tournaments. This summer will mark the first time the event will be held outside of South America, and will feature teams from both the CONMEBOL and CONCACAF federations, running June 3-26 across 10 U.S. cities.

Tickets for the historic tournament are now on sale and suites at CenturyLink Field are also available.

Seattle was named one of those host cities late last year, but didn’t find out until Sunday which four teams will play at CenturyLink Field.

Both Haiti and Peru were drawn in Group B on Sunday and will play in Seattle on June 4. Haiti are currently ranked No. 65 in the world, while Peru are No. 43.

Argentina, meanwhile, is the top seed from Group D and will take on Bolivia on June 14 in Seattle. Currently ranked No. 2 in the world, Argentina finished runner-up in the FIFA World Cup two years ago and boast a star-studded lineup anchored by Lionel Messi, who earlier this year won his fifth career Ballon D’or award as the top player in the world.

Bolivia are currently ranked No. 72 in the world.

Seattle will host a quarterfinal matchup on June 16 between the the top team from Group A and the runner-up from Group B. The U.S. headline a tough foursome in Group A along with Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay, while Group B consists of Brazil, Ecuador, Haiti and Peru.

Should the U.S. win their group, they’ll play in Seattle for the first time since winning a CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match over Panama on June 11, 2013. The tournament will open on June 3 with the U.S. hosting Paraguay at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Group C consists of Mexico, Uruguay, Jamaica and Venezuela, while Group D consists of Argentina, Chile, Panama and Bolivia.
