Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro joins Montreal Impact defender Laurent Ciman as Major League Soccer representatives on AS.com’s 2016 Team of the Americas.

Lodeiro spent the first part of 2016 with Argentine side Boca Juniors and the summer’s Copa America Centenario with Uruguay before joining Seattle in late July. He earned MLS Newcomer of the Year honors in just 13 regular-season matches to lead the Sounders to an unlikely playoff berth followed by the franchise’s first MLS Cup title.
