United States forward Clint Dempsey scored against Panama in the 39th minute on Tuesday in a CONCACAF 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead.
The Sounders striker now has four goals in his last two U.S. matches after recording a hat trick against Honduras last Friday. Dempsey now sits at 56 international goals, just one behind Landon Donovan for the all-time U.S. men’s record. Dempsey also has 11 goals in his last eight total appearances across for club and country.
The U.S. entered halftime with Panama tied at 1-1 after a Gabriel Gomez equalizer in the 43rd minute.
