Former Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin scored his first Newcastle goal on Saturday after signing with the club two weeks ago.
Yedlin, who spent the last week with the United States national team as it qualified for the Hexagonal in 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying, found the back of the net in stoppage time against Derby County to seal the 2-0 win. Yedlin entered the match as a substitute in the 73rd minute for Youn Gouffran, who scored Newcastle's opening goal in the 20th minute.
The 23-year-old signed with the Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur, after spending the entirety of last season on loan to Sunderland. Newcastle, which was relegated from the English Premier League last season, is currently tied for second in the English League Championship table.
