If you haven't heard, Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey likes scoring goals. His favorite type of goal? Goals against the Portland Timbers.
Of his 22 strikes for the Sounders since joining the club in August of 2013, six have been against our friends to the south, his most against any one team. To further that, Deuce has scored in each of the last four contests between Seattle and Portland. That is a solid return in the most important matches. Well done, Clint.
To help refresh your memory on all the great things Clint has done against the Timbers, here's all the great things Clint has done against the Timbers:
April 5, 2014: 4-4 at Portland Timbers
Dempsey started the scoring rampage against the Timbers in thrilling fashion. In Portland, Dempsey netted a memorable hat trick that was capped with an 87th-minute penalty to tie the score at 4-4.
The first effort, after 24 minutes, was the first of his goals to tie the score after Obafemi Martins played him in through the middle and he easily beat Portland goalkeeper Andrew Weber.
The second, moments before his equalizing PK, came again from Martins who got just a tiny bit of a flick inside the area, and Dempsey was able to put it home to bring the score back to 4-3. So yeah, it was a pretty memorable fixture. See below for the full highlights.
July 13, 2014: 2-0 vs Portland Timbers
Dempsey's fourth goal against Portland was in front of 64,000 fans at CenturyLink Field back in July of last season. In his first match back with the Sounders after leading the USMNT to the Knockout Round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Dempsey tapped in the ultimate poacher's goal here to open the scoring late in the game.
Seattle would round out the result thanks to a Marco Pappa strike in the 86th minute. The match would end 2-0...and look, the highlights are here for you to enjoy!
August 24, 2014: 4-2 at Portland Timbers
In what will surely go down as one of the Sounders' finest displays on the road in PDX, Dempsey scored a fantastic goal in his side's 4-2 victory at Providence Park.
His goal, in the 34th minute, capped a full-field counterattack that saw Dempsey run some 80 yards down field to finish past Donovan Ricketts. His hustle surprised then-Timbers defender Michael Harrington who is seen in Dempsey's wake shortly after midfield.

And the latest. This past Sunday at CenturyLink Field, Dempsey scored the lone goal in the Sounders' 1-0 victory over the Timbers.
The scrappiest of the lot, Dempsey followed in Andy Rose's shot and knocked it past Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey to give the Rave Green the lead at CenturyLink Field. Enjoy it again below.
