The Sounders FC U17s defeated the U17s from the Philadelphia Union on Sunday.
Aaron Kovar set-up both goals as the Sounders FC U-17 boys downed the Philadelphia Union, 2-1, at the SUM Cup in Houston on Saturday night. Seattle plays its final group stage game against Columbus on Monday.
Michael Gallagher connected with a header off a corner kick by Kovar in the 25th minute for a 1-nil lead. Â On the next foray moments later, DeAndre Yedlin hammered a 30-yard blast that the Union goalkeeper tipped over the crossbar. Â On the ensuing corner kick, Ian Lange scored out of a scramble from another Kovar corner kick in the 27th minute.
Early in the second half Rodney Greiling made two great saves to keep Philadelphia scoreless, but with 15 minutes left Union broke through to pull a goal back.
The winner of Monday’s Sounders FC-Crew match will advance to Tuesday’s semifinals.  The SUM Cup Final will be played on Wednesday at Reliant Stadium prior to the MLS All-Star Game.
