Nouhou vs. Cristian Espinoza
Nouhou continues to impress on both sides of the pitch. Whether it be his assertiveness during quick transition moments or his technical abilities on the ball, the versatility he brings to his game is undeniable. He will likely face up against winger Cristian Espinoza. Espinoza currently leads the ’Quakes in goals with ten so far this season. His efforts in the attack awarded him a spot on the 2023 MLS All-Star roster.
Yeimar vs. Jeremy Ebobisse
While Yeimar is considered the backbone of the Sounders defense, his ability to make big offensive plays in crucial moments is also something he incorporates into his game. Last Saturday, the center back scored the game-winning goal for the Rave Green in stoppage time against the Vancouver Whitecaps. He will have to be aware of Earthquakes forward Jeremy Ebobisse during Wednesday night’s match. Ebobisse is a vital asset in San Jose’s attack as he’s recorded seven goals and two assists so far this season for the California team.
Léo Chú vs. Carlos Akapo
Sounders winger Léo Chú is a constant threat to opposing back lines every time he steps on the pitch. Not only does he lead the Rave Green in assists this season (8), he has also netted a few goals for the team. His most recent contribution came this past weekend when he tallied a brace in the 3-2 victory over Vancouver. He’ll most likely go head-to-head with outside back Carlos Akapo. Akapo is a consistent starter for San Jose as he serves as a main component in the team’s backline while also contributing on the offensive end. He currently has two goals and two assists so far this season.
