SOCCER GODS GIVETH AND TAKETH AWAY: Just about everything went right for the Sounders last Saturday in a 5-2 mauling of LAFC at home. But just three days later, Seattle fell 4-1 at Cruz Azul in Mexico City to bow out of the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup in the Round of 16.
INJURY ISSUES: After losing Designated Player Pedro de la Vega early on against LAFC, the Sounders lost Paul Arriola and Jordan Morris each to injuries at Cruz Azul on Tuesday.

BRICK WALL: St. Louis CITY is the only one of 30 MLS teams that has not conceded so far this season. The club is only the fifth team in the last decade and 11th overall in MLS history to open the campaign with three consecutive clean sheets. They are led by star goalkeeper Roman Bürki, who is the reigning MLS Player of the Matchday after his eight-save effort in a win over the LA Galaxy.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Cedric Teuchert, F
The former Germany youth international joined St. Louis last summer after a successful stint in the 2.Bundesliga with Hannover 96. Teuchert had five goals and four assists in just 762 minutes last season and is coming off a goal-and-assist, MLS Team of the Matchday performance in last week’s victory over LA.
