Sounders FC kicked off its seventh campaign this weekend with the first training session of 2015. Over a hundred fans came out to Starfire Sports on Saturday, welcoming new Sounders like Tyrone Mears, Troy Perkins, Cristian Roldan and Darwin Jones, as well as reuniting with familiar faces like Brad Evans, Lamar Neagle, Zach Scott and Osvaldo Alonso.
“It’s always exciting on the first day because the players are anxious and they’re eager and want to show you what they can do,” said Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid, who came over before training and addressed the Sounders faithful. “You can definitely sense the excitement and we wanted to make sure we got a good look at the new guys and got the work for the older guys that we wanted to.
