Another week, another set of stellar individual performances by the Sounders FC.
This time around, it's forward Obafemi Martins AND goalkeeper Stefan Frei who are receiving national attention as both were recognized for their play against NYCFC in the club's 3-1 win last week.
Martins won his second MLS AT&T Goal of the Week with his terrific finish off of Clint Dempsey's audacious flick to wrap the match in the Big Apple. He won an impressive 47.67% of the vote with Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco coming in 2nd with 28.48%. Better luck next time, amico.
Take a look at Oba's silly awesome goal right here in this very post:
Not to be outdone, Swiss goalkeeper Stefan Frei outdid Tim Melia of Sporting KC with 43.49% to Melia's 21.59%. That's over twice as many percents!
Frei's save, coming in the 76th minute of the NYC match, was an outstanding diving effort to deny Kwadwo Poku's shot from outside the area to keep the score 3-1.
