Following Major League Soccer’s Decision Day, all postseason positioning is set for the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs Wild Card and Round One matchups. On the back of Sounders FC’s 2-0 victory over St. Louis last night, Seattle has secured second place in the Western Conference and advances directly to Round One, a best-of-three series. The Rave Green face seventh-seed FC Dallas in Round One and host the first game of the series on Monday, October 30 (6:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV – Watch Free, FS1, iHeartMedia Seattle, El Rey 1360 AM) on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field.
Single-match tickets for next Monday’s match are now on sale at SoundersFC.com/Tickets or by calling 877-657-4625. Tickets are not available at the box office. Group tickets and premium experiences are also available; call 877-657-4625 for more information.
Announced earlier this year, MLS has adopted a new postseason format beginning in 2023. Building on the popular single-elimination format, the 2023 MLS postseason sees the addition of a pair of single-elimination Wild Card matches ahead of an enhanced Round One, which is now being played as a best-of-three, home-away-home series.
As a higher seed than FC Dallas, the Rave Green host Match One of the series on Monday, October 30 before traveling to Texas for Match Two, which is being played Saturday, November 4. If an additional match is necessary to decide the ultimate winner of the round, Match Three will be played in Seattle on Friday, November 10.
In Round One, every game has a winner; there are no ties and no aggregate score. If a match is tied at the end of regulation, no extra time is played and teams instead go straight to penalty kicks to determine the winner. The first team to win two matches in the series advances to the Conference Semifinals, at which point all ensuing matches revert to single-elimination.
MLS Season Pass features every match of the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, all in one place with no blackouts. Wild Card Round and the opening match of each Round One, best-of-three series are being aired for free on MLS Season Pass, with subsequent matches exclusive to MLS Season Pass. Select playoff games, including MLS Cup, are also available through FOX Sports in the United States and TSN and RDS in Canada.
