Sounders FC sends Khano Smith to New York, receiving allocation money in return.
RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Sounders FC sent forward Khano Smith to the New York Red Bulls on Thursday in exchange for allocation money. Per league and club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Smith, 27, was selected by Sounders FC in the MLS Expansion Draft on November 26, 2008. Â He had played the past four seasons for the New England Revolution. He played in 85 games for the Revolution, scoring eight goals and adding 11 assists. In 2008, Smith played in 23 games with 18 starts, and scored two goals and three assists. Â
Sounders FC begins the 2009 MLS season on March 19, hosting New York at the Xbox Pitch at Qwest Field.
