SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC today announced that it has acquired $100,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM) from St. Louis City SC in exchange for a 2023 International Roster Slot. The move brings Seattle’s number of 2023 International Roster Slots to seven as the team continues its offseason preparations.
Sounders FC now has four open International Roster Slots heading into the 2023 season, with three current international players on the roster: Abdoulaye Cissoko, Léo Chú and Yeimar Gómez Andrade.
Sounders FC finished the 2022 campaign with a 16-17-5 record across all competitions. The Rave Green became the first MLS side to win the Concacaf Champions League title in the spring, before a regular season that fell short of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in the club’s 14-year history. Seattle heads into the offseason with its sights set on the 2023 campaign, which begins with the FIFA Club World Cup.
