A weekend of festivities kickoff the newly expanded shop with specials and player appearances running all weekend.
Over the last five years, the Sounders FC brand has expanded exponentially. As has the demand for Sounders FC gear.
On Friday, there will be a grand new addition to CenturyLink Field when the Seahawks and Sounders FC Pro Shop re-opens after a remodel that expanded the official retail outlet to include 250-percent larger retail space and 40-percent more merchandise. Club President Peter McLoughlin will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Sounders FC midfielder Steve Zakuani on Friday at 5:30 pm to kickoff a weekend of re-opening festivities that will include players from the Sounders and Seahawks.
The Sounders highlights include the Sounders FC Weekly radio show broadcasting from the store at 8 a.m. on Saturday, a performance by Sound Wave prior to Saturday’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and appearances by Michael Gspurning and Djimi Traore at noon on Sunday.
During the Sounders FC Weekly radio show, the broadcast team of Ross Fletcher and Sounders legend Kasey Keller will stop by to join host Matt Johnson, along with Taylor Graham and Wade Webber and former Sounders FC announcer and current NBC Sports voice Arlo White.
The weekend will feature many special offers, including 20-percent off Sounders FC jerseys, a free Sounders FC cap with any $50 purchase and special prize drawings.
