Sounders FC Pre-Academy got goals from five different players in a 7-1 win over Whatcom U17 last night at Starfire Sports Complex. Denis Kalamar and Jacob Kempf led the way with two goals apiece, while David Olsen did much of the orchestrating, compiling four assists while also scoring a goal. The Sounders outshot the older Whatcom squad 24-7 and were precise in their finishing, the highlight coming from Kalab Karlek when he scored from 25 yards out in the 65th minute. Keeper Evan Munn came up with a big save in the 10th minute and was able to keep Whatcom off the board until they finally scored in the 77th. Abdi Abdullah also contributed a goal and an assist in the victory. Sounders FC Pre-Academy next plays Thursday night, October 6th versus the Northwest Nationals U17 team. The young Sounders have started strong in the fall season but harder games are on the horizon.Â
