Sounders FC plays to scoreless draw with FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium

FRISCO, TEXAS - Sounders FC (11-7-11, 44 points) played to a scoreless draw with FC Dallas (9-8-11, 38 points) Saturday night at Toyota Stadium in North Texas. The result extends Seattle's current club-record unbeaten run to 13 games (6-0-7). The Rave Green remain on the road next weekend, with Brian Schmetzer's side visiting Western Conference rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday, September 23 (6:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, ROOT SPORTS, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM). 


With 44 points (11-7-11), Sounders FC is now tied for second place in the Western Conference, one point behind Vancouver for the top spot. Seattle has five matches remaining in the 2017 campaign, with Portland and Sporting Kansas City also both currently holding 44 points on the season.


The Rave Green continue their Western Conference battles on Saturday, September 23 at Rio Tinto Stadium. Kickoff between Sounders FC and Real Salt Lake is set for 6:30 p.m. PT, featuring local television coverage on JOEtv and regional coverage throughout the Pacific Northwest via ROOT SPORTS. Radio broadcasts are slated for KIRO Radio 97.3 FM and El Rey 1360 AM. Seattle last played RSL on May 20 at CenturyLink Field, resulting in a 1-0 win for the home side courtesy of a Harry Shipp goal.

  • Sounders FC currently has a 13-match unbeaten streak (6-0-7), a club-record mark that dates back to June 17. The current mark surpassed the previous club record of nine set from May 28 - July 16, 2011. Sounders FC has recorded a draw in each of its past four games, one shy of a club record set in 2009. The league record for an unbeaten run is held by Columbus Crew SC, who went 19 matches unbeaten across the 2004 and 2005 seasons, and FC Dallas, who had a 19-game streak in 2010.
  • Stefan Frei registered his 10th shutout of the season, tying a career high and matching Tim Melia for the league lead. His 56 career shutouts are now tied with Donovan Ricketts for ninth all-time in MLS history.
  • Saturday marked the first of two meetings this season between Seattle and Dallas, with the two sides set to meet again on October 15 at CenturyLink Field. The Rave Green are now 10-5-6 all-time regular-season series against FC Dallas.
