Sounders and RAVE Foundation are excited to partner with the to celebrate Women’s History Month! Join us on Saturday, March 30 for a day of celebration and learning with free admission to NAAM for the first 200 fans wearing Sounders FC gear or colors.
Sounders and RAVE will be leading a First Kicks soccer clinic for kids ages 3-7, with an accompanying Books & Balls giveaway for youth! Join us at 1:30 PM for Sounders programming.
SCHEDULE
10:30 AM | Film - Pele
While fans can receive free admission all day, special programming will be from 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM. The day will begin with the feature film Pele!
After the film, we encourage you to visit the Woman-owned and Black-owned food truck, Swagg-N-Wagon, that will be onsite. Don't forget to upload your receipt for a chance to win Sounders prizes from Intentionalist!
1:00 PM | Storytime - Happy Like Soccer
Join NAAM for an interactive storytime, with a special guest reader for elementary school youth.
1:30 PM | First Kicks Clinic and Books & Balls
We are excited to collaborate on our Books & Balls program once again! Youth in attendance on Sounders Day will receive a free book, courtesy of NAAM, and a free soccer ball, courtesy of RAVE Foundation. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the books given away will features stories of Black girls and woman as created by authors and illustrators that are Black women.
Youth ages 3 to 7 years old will also have the opportunity to participate in RAVE Foundation’s First Kicks clinic. This programming, created in alignment with Washington State Learning Standards, provides caretakers with the tools to help young learners move their bodies and develop their cognitive skills, all while using a soccer ball. The first 50 kids to join the clinic will also receive a free RAVE Foundation soccer ball to take home!
3:30 PM | Film - Alive & Kicking
The day’s festivities will culminate in a raffle for an autographed Sounders FC jersey, in which all attendees will be entered, and a viewing of the film Alive & Kicking: The Soccer Grannies of South Africa.
