SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC today announced that midfielder Víctor Rodríguez has undergone a right knee arthroscopy. The procedure was performed by Dr. Michael Morris on Tuesday, May 1 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. Rodríguez is beginning rehabilitation immediately following the procedure.
Rodríguez, 28, signed with Sounders FC last August using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). The Spanish winger recorded two goals and one assist in seven MLS regular-season appearances last season, before tallying one goal and two assists in the 2017 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. The Barcelona native signed with Seattle after nearly a decade of professional experience in Spain.
After seeing its two-match unbeaten run snapped in Sunday’s 1-0 road loss at Los Angeles FC, Sounders FC returns home to face Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, May 5 on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field (1:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
