SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC has loaned goalkeeper Josh Ford to the Orange County Blues of the USL Pro, the club announced today. Ford will be recalled to Sounders FC on June 14.
Ford, 26, was loaned to Orange County earlier this season and played one game, earning a shutout and recording an assist in a 1-0 win at the OKC Energy on May 10.
He will be available to the Blues for three games before being recalled on June 14. Orange County hosts the Dayton Dutch Lions on Saturday (6/7), then hits the road for matches at Orlando City SC (6/11) and the Charlotte Eagles (6/13).
Originally drafted 11th overall in the 2011 MLS Supplemental Draft after a record-setting career at the University of Connecticut, Ford has yet to make a competitive appearance for Sounders FC. The fourth-year pro has appeared in 10 career MLS Reserve League matches, including three this season.
