Sounders FC to hold its second annual invitational combine for top college seniors in Las Vegas from December 17-19.
RENTON, WASH. - The Seattle Sounders FC announced today that it will hold its second annual invitational combine for top college seniors in Las Vegas from December 17-19.
Sessions will be held at the Kellogg Zaher Soccer Complex and Sounders FC will select all of the participants. Sigi Schmid and his staff will be on hand to evaluate players.
In 2009 the Sounders FC combine attracted eight players currently on MLS rosters, including Tim Ream, Eric Alexander, Steven Beitashour and Seattle's David Estrada. In all, 12 combine participants were chosen in the MLS SuperDraft. Among them were Sounders FC selections Estrada and Jamel Wallace,
"It was very helpful for me because I wasn't sure what to expect from the MLS Combine," said Estrada. "The coaches were very insightful and the players there were very good. It was a lot of good competition. I am very grateful that I got to attend because I ended up here in Seattle."
