A reminder to fans that handheld metal detectors will be utilized at all gates
RENTON, Wash. - Sounders FC encourage fans attending Sunday's match versus the Portland Timbers to plan ahead and arrive well in advance of kickoff to ensure smooth access into the stadium as handheld metal detectors will be utilized at all gates. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and first kick is scheduled for 7 p.m. More than 66,500 tickets have been distributed for the match, the largest crowd in MLS this season.
Fans will be asked to remove all metal from their pockets and hold the items in their hands as the screening is conducted, including coins, keys and cell phones. Fans are encouraged to give themselves enough time to pass through security. The 30-minute period leading up to kickoff is the busiest time frame at all security screening points.
There are plenty of transportation options for fans to access CenturyLink Field including Sounder trains which will operate one trip from the north and one trip from the south. Visit the team's transportation guide at //www.soundersfc.com/matchday/transportation/guide.aspx.
