RENTON, WASH. – Sounders FC defender Jonathan Bell has been called into international duty, joining Jamaica for 2024 Copa America. This is Bell’s second call-up for Jamaica this year, who kicks off tournament play on Saturday, June 22 against Mexico in Houston, Texas (6:00 p.m. PT / FS1).
Bell, 26, has one career cap for Jamaica, appearing for 46 minutes in a 0-0 draw against Guatemala in a friendly on November 12, 2023. Bell was also called up earlier this year for a Concacaf Nations League third-place match against Panama on March 24 but did not appear in the game. After Jamaica begins Group B play on against Mexico on Saturday, the Raggae Boyz face Ecuador on June 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada (3:00 p.m. PT / FS1) and Venezuela on June 30 in Austin, Texas (5:00 p.m. PT / FS1). Bell has made seven appearances (six starts) in all competitions for Seattle this year, as well as two starts for Tacoma Defiance.
Following a 2-2 draw at Houston Dynamo FC on Wednesday, Seattle Sounders FC returns home for three consecutive home matches, beginning on Saturday, June 22 against FC Dallas on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (7:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, SiriusXM FC, El Rey 1360 AM).
