RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC, alongside official Pride partner Starbucks, today announced that the clubs are observing Pride Month throughout the month of June with a variety of special activities to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, as part of the clubs’ commitments to Advance Equity for All and Champion and Affirm the Power of Women, Girls and Gender Diverse People.
Sounders and Reign officially kicked off Pride Month on Tuesday, June 3 by raising a giant Progress Pride flag over Lumen Field that will fly for Sounders FC’s Pride Match against Austin FC on Saturday, June 28 and Reign FC’s Pride Match vs. Angel City FC on Friday, August 1. The event featured Sounders FC players Andrew Thomas and Pedro de la Vega, Reign FC players Cassie Miller and Phoebe McClernon, Starbucks partners, Emerald City Supporters (ECS) and Royal Guard member Mindi Rice, as well as Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center representative Eddy Chavez.
Sounders FC and Reign FC are continuously working to make Washington state the most inclusive place for gender diverse youth to play soccer in the United States, advancing awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and promoting mutual respect and equal human rights for all.

GENDER DIVERSE YOUTH SOCCER CLINIC
Sounders FC and Reign FC are hosting their annual gender diverse youth soccer clinic this week. The event – hosted in partnership with the clubs’ Pride partner Starbucks and local LGBTQ+ community organizations – will provide the youth and their families with the opportunity to play with and learn from Sounders FC and Reign FC players. Participants will be cheered on by Emerald City Supporters (ECS) and Royal Guard, in a safe and encouraging environment.
Wednesday’s event will also include a Q&A session with Sounders FC and Reign FC players, with attendees receiving free soccer balls courtesy of RAVE Foundation. With support from Starbucks, youth in attendance will also receive a swag bag that includes a t-shirt and a water bottle.
SEATTLE PRIDE PARADE 2025 – JUNE 29
On Sunday, June 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT, Sounders and Reign staff members will be joined by Emerald City Supporters (ECS) and Royal Guard, as well as Sounders FC official band Sound Wave and Reign City Riot – the band that performs at each Reign FC match – to celebrate this year’s Seattle Pride Parade, a community-led event focused on LGBTQIA2S+ visibility.
This year’s parade route again runs through downtown Seattle along Fourth Avenue between Pike Street and Denny Way, with the step off taking place at Westlake Park. The parade is a free, fun, community-wide celebration advancing awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and promoting mutual respect and equal human rights for all.

As Seattle Sounders FC prepares to face Austin FC on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. PT on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field, the club celebrates its annual Pride match presented by Starbucks, which features a variety of special matchday activities celebrating inclusion as the club reaffirms its commitment to Advanced Equity for All.
Seattle Reign FC is set to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and Pride Month at its annual Pride match vs. Angel City FC on Friday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. PT at Lumen Field, as part of the club’s commitment to Advance Equity for All and Champion and Affirm the Power of Women, Girls and Gender Diverse People.
In celebration of Pride Month, Sounders FC, Reign FC and fellow Seattle professional sports teams are teaming up with Intentionalist to encourage fans to #SpendLikeItMatters at LGBTQ-owned businesses. Fans can upload receipts from any LGBTQ-owned small business through the month of June and be entered to win a variety of prizes from their favorite sports teams.
