SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC today announced that it has acquired a 2019 International Roster Slot from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for a Second Round 2021 MLS SuperDraft selection. The move gives Seattle nine International Roster Slots for the remainder of the 2019 campaign, as the Rave Green head down to Portland tomorrow evening for a matchup with archrival Timbers at Providence Park (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
With the move, Seattle now has International Roster Slots to accommodate all nine of its international players: Xavier Arreaga, Emanuel Cecchini, Joevin Jones, Kim Kee-hee, VÃctor RodrÃguez, Raúl RuidÃaz, Brad Smith, Gustav Svensson and Nouhou.
Following a 2-2 road draw with the LA Galaxy on Saturday, Sounders FC continues its road stretch with a Cascadia clash against the Portland Timbers on Friday, August 23 at Providence Park (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
