Seattle Sounders FC U-18 is set to host Redmond-based Crossfire Premier in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy national quarterfinals on Friday at 6:00 p.m. PT at Starfire Sports. For the first time in club history, Sounders FC U-16 and U-18 squads have reached the quarterfinals in the same season, though the U-16s were eliminated by Vancouver's U-16s on Thursday. Sounders FC U-18 joins squads from Orlando City SC, Colorado Rapids, LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake as remaining MLS programs in the tournament. The other teams include Texans SC Houston and Real So Cal.
The two Washington sides have faced each other three times since September, with Sounders FC U-18 holding a 2-1-0 advantage. Kickoff for Friday's match is set for 6:00 p.m. PT on Field 12 at Starfire Sports. The match is set to be live-streamed via the following link: http://sndrs.com/stzva. Parking is available at the lots along Interurban Avenue for a cost of $5, as the complex's primary lot won't be available for spectators.
In addition to this week's tournament action, six Sounders FC Academy players have been made USL-eligible by S2 and can play on Saturday at Real Monarchs SLC (6:00 p.m. PT / Live-Streamed on SoundersFC.com): goalkeeper Akili Kasim, defender Khai Bisco, midfielders Dylan Teves and Cameron Martin, and forwards Greg Sutton and Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez.
