Seattle Sounders FC today unveiled its full schedule for the 2015 preseason presented by adidas, including camp at Mt. San Antonio College in Southern California and an extended stay in Tucson for the Desert Diamond Cup. Currently the club is scheduled to play six preseason matches, including two friendlies while at camp in Mt. SAC and four guaranteed Desert Diamond Cup contests in Arizona.
The club’s first media availability of 2015 is being held this Saturday, January 24 at the club’s Starfire Sports training facility in Tukwila. Training begins at 10:00 a.m. PST, with players and coaches available to the press beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. PST. Saturday’s entire training session is open to media.
After less than a week of training at Starfire Sports, Sigi Schmid’s club will fly down to Southern California for a nine-day camp at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. Sounders FC is currently scheduled to play friendly matches against UCLA on February 4 and the LA Galaxy on February 6. Times and locations for those friendlies will be released at a later date.
The club then returns to Seattle for another week of training at Starfire Sports from February 7-14 before hitting the road to participate in the fourth annual FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. The Rave Green join four other MLS sides and FC Tucson in the tournament, which Sounders FC won in 2013. Seattle is playing three set matches, beginning with host side FC Tucson on February 18 at 7:00 p.m. PST. The club then takes on Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. PST, followed by the New England Revolution on Wednesday, February 25 at 5:00 p.m. PST. Sounders FC play a fourth match dependent on the results of the previous three on Saturday, February 28, with time and opponent TBD.
Sounders FC begins its seventh season on Sunday, March 8 against defending Eastern Conference champion New England Revolution on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. 2015 Sounders FC season ticket packages are currently available online or by calling 877-MLS-GOAL.
