Sounders FC 2 suffers first home loss of the season to Tulsa Roughnecks FC

TUKWILA, WASH. – Sounders FC 2 (6-4-2, 20 points) lost it’s first home match of the season to Tulsa Roughnecks FC (4-5-2, 14 points) by a final score of 5-1. Pablo Rossi scored the lone goal for S2, equalizing for the Rave Green in the 25^th minute for his fourth USL goal of the season and his seventh across all competitions.

Tulsa started the scoring in the 10^th minute when forward Adam Black curled a shot from 20 yards past diving S2 goalkeeper Charlie Lyon. Although Rossi equalized for S2 15 minutes later, Black found the net again in the 34^th minute from nearly the same spot to complete the brace and make it 2-1.

Roughnecks FC Midfielder Lucas Cordeiro made it 3-1 in the 40^th minute, finding a gap in the S2 backline to double the Tulsa lead.

S2 pushed to get a goal back throughout the second half, recording nine shots in the final 45 minutes. However, Tulsa struck twice more late in the second half, with Kidd Nwabueze scoring in the 78^th minute and former-Sounder Sammy Ochoa adding a fifth goal in the 87^th.

S2 is back in action at Starfire Stadium on Thursday, June 11 in it's first matchup against LA Galaxy II (7:30 p.m. PT / SoundersFC.com).
