CARSON, CALIF. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 fell 1-0 to LA Galaxy II on the road Sunday in Carson, Calif. LA Galaxy II took the lead in the first half from a Jack McBean headed goal in the 44th minute, while S2 played the final 33 minutes down a man following a Giuliano Frano red card in the 57th minute.
With the match scoreless as the first half wound down, LA II earned a corner kick, and while the initial effort was cleared away, Jose Villarreal was able to create space and recycle the chance in. His cross found McBean who redirected the cross into the net past goalkeeper Charlie Lyon.
Lyon kept his side only down one goal, making seven saves throughout the course of the match.
With the result, the Rave Green (12-9-3, 39 points) drops to third place in the USL Western Conference behind LA Galaxy II (13-8-3, 42 points) and Oklahoma City Energy FC (11-5-7, 40 points).
