Seattle Sounders interim head coach Brian Schmetzer said on Wednesday that he expects forward Jordan Morris to be back for the team’s match next Wednesday at CenturyLink Field against the Houston Dynamo (7:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3FM, El Rey 1360AM).
United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann called in Morris for the U.S.’ friendly on Oct. 7 against Cuba in Havana, one of five Sounders currently on national team duty over the international break.
The USMNT also has a friendly on Oct. 11 in Washington, D.C., against New Zealand, but it’s very possible that Morris will be released after the Cuba game and return to Seattle.
Schmetzer also said that midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro’s return is a possibility for the Houston game as well. Lodeiro is currently with Uruguay as they take on Venezuela on Oct. 6 and Colombia on Oct. 11 in CONMEBOL 2016 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.
