Three Sounders Academy players from the U-14 squad have been called into the final United States U-15 Boys National Team camp of 2016. The trio of Josh Atencio, Danny Robles and Alfonso Ocampo Chavez earned the invitations after dominant performances while playing up two age groups during the first round of qualifying for Generation adidas Cup.
A creative attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, Danny Robles is a product of Sounders Discovery Program. The young Sounder was named Youdan Trophy Player of the Tournament after leading the Rave Green to the tournament title this summer.
Josh Atencio, a local player from the Seattle area, can operate anywhere in the Sounders midfield, although he thrives in a deeper-lying defensive role. His performances at the U-16 level, and his aptitude for shielding the back four, showcase his intelligence and intuitive ability to read the game.

Finally, Alfonso Ocampo Chavez is a young striker who has consistently challenged defenses since joining the club. Despite facing defenders two years his senior, Ocampo Chavez recorded five goals and three assists in just three matches against LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes at Generation adidas Cup.
With three call-ups, SSFC Academy is tied with Lonestar Soccer Club for the most represented club at the camp, which will take place from November 5-12 in Bradenton, Fla. This accolade is indicative of the growing reputation of Sounders Academy on the national stage.
The invitations continue a trend in 2016 of Sounders Academy prospects being called-up to United States National Teams at every age level.
One noteworthy invite to camp is New York City FC Academy prospect Giovanni Reyna, who is the son of former United States international and current NYCFC Sporting Director Claudio Reyna.
