Oh how we missed you, Ozzie Alonso.
The Sounders FC Designated Player, holding midfielder extraordinaire and all around life inspiration returned to the pitch for his first match of the 2015 season on Saturday. Offseason groin surgery sidelined the 29-year-old for the first three matches of the year but there would not be a fourth as Alonso was in the starting XI against the Houston Dynamo.
And many rejoiced. Many, many rejoiced.
Oh, and not to mention that, the club rode a fabulous Obafemi Martins goal to a 1-0 victory over Houston in front of a packed house at CenturyLink Field. Not too shabby.
Here's all the social fun that went down on a lovely Saturday in Seattle.
The day had come and there was much to be excited about.
Look how lovely our stadium is!
Oba was excited about the match.
As was Chad Barrett (with new Twitter background)
Cool video we got here.
And here’s the Sounders lineup. It was a good one. A different one from FC Dallas, obviously.
I just love when they sing like that.
OZZIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Chad likes you guys a lot.
It truly was a wonderful day in Seattle.
Let’s get this show on the road!
Just skip right to the good stuff. What a finish!
Oh Oba, how you just pull at my heartstrings.
Sing it with me!
Hey looks! Obaflips in FIFA15!
There it is. So nice.
Drew really liked it!
And that was that! Three points in the bag.
Oba does this from time to time. And now some reactions from the guys…
All in a good day’s work for you Seattle Sounders FC.
And look here! We’re all pals.
OZZIE IS BACK, YOU GUYS!
