Now THAT is how you kick off a season.
Holy smokes. What a performance from the Sounders FC in the opening match of the year. The anticipation was building and building and building, despite a short offseason, and the Rave Green certainly delivered. Playing against last year's Eastern Conference representative in the MLS Cup Final, the New England Revolution, the Sounders made short work of the visitors in an impressive 3-0 victory.
Oh and Clint Dempsey scored a pair of goals and assisted on Obafemi Martins' goal. So that's a good start.
Let us recap the magical day that saw your favorite footy club return to the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field for the first time in nearly 100 days. It's true, I counted.
Today was the day. Well, yesterday. Or Sunday. Whatever.
Drew was in town! Hi Drew!
Oh Kasey.
He would have a pretty solid game. You’ll see.

Pretty solid first half…and by solid I mean near perfect.
Oh boy, oh boy. That was something else.
Let’s make it three, shall we?
Shrewd analysis by our very own Jackie Montgomery.
This was the nicest goal the Sounders have scored in a long time.
Thank you indeed. What a terrific audience.
That’s a keeper right there.
When Oba says it’s next level, it’s next level. And now more from the players…
