What better way to open up your first ever season as a franchise than with a thumping 4-2 beating of the defending league champions?
That was exactly how the Seattle Sounders FC 2 marked its entrance into USL on Saturday as the club made short work of the Sacramento Republic FC at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
The match had everything. Set piece goals, debut goals, a great atmosphere, lots of furious flags. Just an all-around great evening in South Seattle.
Here's how it went down:
The day had arrived.
Coach Schmetz was ready for the match.
Speaking of coaches, Head Coach Schmid has his seat ready for the match.
Young Duncan was ready to go.
Pretty solid lineup right there.
Cute kids are cute.
Very cool tifo from ECS. Gotta show some love for Ezra.
Stef was excited to be there.
Looking good in the crowd there.
We had kickoff! Really great stuff. Just really great.
Then BOOM. Right in front of me behind the goal, Craven deposits to give Seattle the 1-0 lead.
Goal celebrations are fun.
Make it two for S2. Now up 2-1.
The legend continues.
Yeah, this was nice.
This was also VERY nice. Just a lovely ball in from Vic. Great finish from Cristian.
And that about wrapped it up. Great stuff. Crazy awesome match. Some player reactions coming rightttttt up:
