Friday night's USL match between Sounders FC 2 and Timbers 2 was a night of firsts.
In S2's 2-0 downing of T2 (the club's first loss at home), new S2 signing midfielder Sérgio made his first appearance and got his first assist, while Damion Lowe netted his first goal for the club. S2 recorded its first win on the road this season, and for now, sits in first place in the USL Western Conference.
And they said one was the lonliest number.
The match might have been exactly what S2 needed to turn its fortune on the road around, and the team gets a chance to prove its dominances this Wednesday in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup back at Starfire Stadium. But for now, let's relive the three-point glory that took place in a certain city down south with this Social Timeline.
It was finally time. Eyes on the ball, Andy!
Well, hello there, Sérgio. Want to play some soccer?
Sérgio makes his first start, also, that looks like a pretty strong group if you ask me.
Ok, maybe we are really excited about Sérgio.
Heeeeeeeeeere we go!
That wasn't very nice, Tim.
Whew...
YES! Way to go Damion!
They really like that color, it seems.
Hello ECS! We are so happy you made it.
This was some professional stuff from Big Time Charlie Lyon. Like, so good.
Oh. My. Goodness. Craven just did things to the Portland defense that are downright criminal.
This guy is good, mmkay?
You can't score goals from an offside position. It is the rule (thankfully).
And we are very proud of those trophies.
Count 'em! That is not one, not two, but THREE whole points in Portand.
Nice work, Aaron!
Also, Sérgio gets his first assist! We are happy to have you in Seattle.
With only a few days until we see T2 again, but this time on the home turf. Tickets are available here, and the match will be live-streamed on SoundersFC.com.
